Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Credlark (“Credlark”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects information when you use our website and application (the “Service”). Credlark is an organizational tool that helps licensed professionals track renewal deadlines and continuing-education credits — it is not a government registry, and using it does not itself renew, verify or file anything with a licensing board.

Information we collect

• Account information — your name, email address and password (or sign-in provider identifier) when you create an account.
• License & CE records — the profession, state, license number, issue and expiry dates, and continuing-education entries you choose to enter, plus any certificate files you upload to the certificate vault.
• Billing information — if you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe; we store your plan, billing status and Stripe customer reference, never your full card number.
• Usage data — basic product analytics (pages viewed, features used, device/browser type) used to improve the Service, and error reports sent to our monitoring provider when something breaks.

How we use your information

• To operate the Service: display your licenses, compute renewal countdowns and CE progress, and store your certificates.
• To send the reminders you sign up for (renewal deadlines approaching, CE hours outstanding) and essential account/billing emails.
• To process payments for paid plans via Stripe.
• To diagnose and fix bugs, and to understand which features are useful so we can improve them.
• To keep the Service secure and prevent abuse.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your license or CE data to train third-party models.

Data storage & security

Your data is stored in encrypted databases with access restricted to the systems and personnel that need it to operate the Service. Certificate uploads are stored in access-controlled object storage. We use industry-standard transport encryption (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit.

Data retention & your choices

You can edit or delete any license, CE entry or certificate at any time from your account. You can export your data and, on Professional and Firm, download an audit report of your records. If you close your account, we delete your license, CE and certificate data within a reasonable period, except where we’re required to retain billing records for tax or legal purposes.

Cookies & analytics

We use a small number of cookies required to keep you signed in, plus privacy-conscious product analytics to understand feature usage in aggregate. We don’t use third-party advertising trackers.

Third parties

We share data with the vendors that operate the Service on our behalf — our database and hosting providers, Stripe for billing, and our email provider for reminders and account emails — each bound to use it only to provide their service to us.

Children

The Service is intended for licensed professionals and is not directed to, or knowingly used by, children under 16.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change to this policy, we’ll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email.
